Pastor Gary M. Walker and wife, Linda, came to serve Oakview Church of God in September 2018.  Pastor Walker came with great communication skills as a speaker and organizational leader having served as Youth Pastor, Christian Education Director, Evangelism Director, Public Relations, and preacher for 35 years.

As well, Pastor Gary served as Lead Pastor of Jeffersonville Church of God, 22 years prior to coming to Oakview Church of God.  His experience skills include serving as Twiggs County Ministerial Association President, chairman of Twiggs County Family Connection, President of Twiggs County Leadership Teams, and State World Missions Director.  He has also served as the photographer for State and National associations within the Church of God denomination.

Pastor Gary is presently active in ministry to the Seminole County community serving with Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Seminole County Ministerial Association and Blue Tarp Ministry for continued assistance in Seminole County. 

His lifetime vision and mission is serving and loving the Lord God with all his heart, mind, soul and strength and loving people with the same passion. He believes people can be grounded in faith and grow in grace. One of his favorite scripture texts is found in Isaiah 11:2, the seven fold characteristic of Jesus Christ: “The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the Spirit of Wisdom and Understanding, the Spirit of Council and Might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.”

Gary considers his Wife, Linda to be his greatest asset.  “She is my best friend and supporter.  My life belongs to Jesus and Linda Walker”. Linda is a retired school teacher and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Florida State University and a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Georgia Southern, as well as a certificate in Gifted Studies.  She is a prolific and pictorially gifted teacher of the scriptures, the very finest cook in the land, a creative homemaker, mother to one daughter, Tara (Jeff), and Grammie to two of the finest grandchildren with which we have been blessed. 

We hold the membership and the privilege of serving as the pastoral team leaders of Oakview Church of God in high esteem.
